Representational systems is the NLP term for you Senses. We perceive through our senses, we see, hear, feel, taste and smell.

Some people are very visual, they see everything, while others have a preference in perceiving in feeling.

Image walking through the same forest and one says: wow, look at these beautiful colors and that bird!. someone else reacts with: which bird do you mean? I only hear a waterfall somewhere. While another person says: I don't hear it but does someone have a jacket, I feel a bit chilly. And my feeling says we need to go to the left. And the last person says: your feeling says to the left? Lets look at the map, it says we need to go straight.
